At Green Heart Farm, we are committed to fostering and maintaining a deep connection with and respect for all Beings, whether human, animal, plant or seemingly inanimate (like the amazing stone beings on this land). Our farm and center are a culmination of a lifelong journey and dream of living in harmony with the land, feeding and being fed by each other, creating and nurturing a community with opportunities to learn, grow, and heal via a connection to each other and nature. This aligns with our commitment to compassionately and holistically raise animals on the land using mindful and organic practices.

Our registered Icelandic sheep and Dexter/Jersey/British White Cross Cows are completely grass-fed on natural, untreated pastures and untreated hay (organic when we can get it!). Our triple-purpose Icelandic Sheep offer tender and mild flavored meat, luxurious wool for clothing, crafts, and pelts, along with rich, abundant milk that allows lambs to thrive. We focus on strong immunity systems in our breedstock choosing those that thrive and have solid parasite resistance. Correct conformation, strong lambing/mothering ability is also a priority in our flock. We are committed to using solid animal/pasture management along with the plants and resources either from the land or other organic sources to support our livestock naturally (herbs and homeopathy) and only using conventional medicines when absolutely necessary. Our animals enjoy fresh pasture every 18-48 hours during the grazing season. We are constantly learning and growing with our land and animals and are regularly in awe of the beauty and abundance they bring to our family and customers.
