Small Ruminant Health Clinic
April 11, 2026
Sterling College
Craftsbury, VT
VSGA is sponsoring a small ruminant health clinic in April. This will be a similar format to the event we held at Sterling in 2023. There will be a classroom event, lunch, and then time with the animals. This will be a great opportunity to learn and socialize with other shepherds.
Class Schedule:
9:00am to 3pm
The class will be taught by Dr Hannah Mullen from Cold Hollow Vets.
Dr. Hannah Mullen found a passion for production sheep medicine while completing her veterinary degree in Ireland. During this time, she lived on a farm each spring, lambing over 400 sheep every year. She has worked for Cold Hollow Veterinary Service since 2022 where her special interests are dairy cattle and small ruminant medicine. She enjoys working with local producers on practical solutions for their flocks and is hoping to bring services like laparoscopic AI to the area. Hannah also owns a small flock of registered Finn sheep herself.
The event will be held at Sterling College, a great small and local school that will sadly be ending its college accredited programs.
Azsa Grenier, Livestock Manager and Faculty, at Sterling will lead the event at the barn in the afternoon. Azsa has suggested a survey of folks interested in this event. This will help us tailor the event to meet your needs. Are you a brand new shepherd or have you been raising sheep for years? If you are an experienced shepherd it would be great if you could let us know what would be helpful to you. Share your ideas with Dave settlementfarm@comcast.net.
The cost of the event is $30 for VSGA members and $40 for non-members. Coffee and lunch at Sterling is provided.
Sterling College is in Craftsbury Common, Vermont.
